Meet SWEETS!
MEET SWEETS!
Sweets, aka Yittle (because she’s the sweetest little lady), is a ~10 year old itty bitty female pittie mix shy of 30 lbs. She was brought to Atlantic County Animal Shelter because her former family was expecting a baby and decided they didn't also want a dog. After hearing all the wonderful things about Sweets from the shelter staff, City of Elderly Love knew they had to help this little lady.
Sweets is currently living in foster care with three large dogs. She was very fearful and shy at first and preferred to keep her distance but she’s getting more and more comfortable every day. After spending most of her life as an only-pet and now getting the chance to learn how to make friends, Sweets would do best with respectful dogs who will give her the time she needs to acclimate to the pack.She has a very sweet disposition and an easy going personality. She is a cuddle bug, she sleeps in, and she loves to follow her foster mom around the house and quietly sit next to her while she works. Sweets also loves going on walks. Her foster family continues to work with her so she’s not so fearful and anxious when she encounters other canine friends. She will be so appreciative of her future family helping her blossom as well! Sweets loves car rides, she’s able to go up and down steps, she doesn’t mind being picked up, and she's housetrained.
Sweets’ skin is still healing from the flea dermatitis she had when she was surrendered to the shelter. The fleas are of course gone and some patchy spots will continue to fill in nicely with time. She received a dental to take care of some painful teeth and she also had a few bumps removed which were all benign. Her blood work is pretty unremarkable and she's now ready to find the perfect forever home!
