Meet Sweetie

Sweetie is a 10 month old, 22 pound Corgi mix that truly lives up to her name! She is really the sweetest, ball of mush, in search of a loving family to help her adapt to the good life as a canine pal. Sweetie has been getting her bearings in the city - so it’s been a bit of an adjustment to these new surroundings from life down south in rural Tennessee - but she likes to snuggle on the couch with a squeaky toy when things are calm.

Sweetie is friendly with humans, other dogs, and even cats. She would do best in a home with a fenced in backyard to help her adjust better to taking walks outside, as she does get scared by loud street noises from vehicles and the general hustle and bustle of the city right now. A home with another furry friend would be great to show her the ropes and help her feel at ease to bring her confidence levels up - she wants to make friends with other dogs of all sizes!

Though a bit shy, Sweetie is also smart, and is already learning how to sit on command and is doing well in housetraining. She also loves her crate, but would happily curl up by your feet or in your bed. A furever home who can offer lots of belly rubs, bacon, and patience to help her blossom is wanted for this sweet girl. She’ll keep you company while hiding toys around the house. Sweetie is looking for a relaxed furever family who will help her feel safe and be repaid with tons of soft little puppy kisses; are you the one?!

This pet's fee is $500. She is being fostered in Manhattan

To adopt this pet, please visit https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt

All of our dogs come spayed or neutered, fully up to date on vaccinations, including rabies (if age appropriate) and bordetella, are microchipped, heartworm negative, current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention, dewormed, and treated for any ailments found upon veterinary examination. The adoption fee covers a portion of these services, and makes it possible for us to continue rescuing animals.

For more information on the adoption fees and the adoption process, please complete our adoption application here: https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt - an application allows us to get to know your family better so we can assess whether the animal you are interested in is a good match for your home. An application does not obligate you to adopt. Please understand that due to the volume of applications some animals receive, we are unable to contact all applicants. If your application is considered a good fit for the dog you are interested in, or even a different pet, a volunteer will give you a call as soon as possible.

We are a foster based rescue and do not have a shelter location where dogs can be seen during the week. Please see our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/LouiesLegacy for our weekly adoption album if you are interested in meeting a dog in person. Not all animals attend every adoption event, please check our Facebook page for animal event times and locations before you make a trip to meet a specific animal.

Thanks so much for caring about a needy animal!
