Meet Sweet Penny

Hi there everyone! My name is Sweet Penny and I'm a five year old Beagle. My story is a long one so I'll just give you the short version. I was surrendered to a shelter but was not happy in that environment at all. I was then sent to 2 different foster homes but did not do well there either so that rescue called Sophie hoping she would take me in under her rescue. She agreed and began working with me right away. I've been doing absolutely great ever since. It seems like it was just a matter of finding me the right person to help me with my issues. You know what they say....different human, different dog.

Now that my bootcamp is over, I'm living with a wonderful family in foster care. I'm a typical Beagle, energetic, very bright and eager to please, sweet as can be and very engaging. My ideal home would be one where I will get regular daily exercise, structure and stability. I'm not for the first time dog owner. If you know my breed well, you know how curious we are. That fine nose of ours is what leads us.

A peaceful home is ideal for me. I'm great with dog savvy kids old enough to know I'm not a toy. I do like to chase squirrels, birds etc.... but I am living with 2 cats in my foster home and everything is good with them.
I'm good with other dogs when introduced properly. I will sometimes start to bark when I see another dog coming my way when I'm being walked. Thanks to my recent training however, I can be easily redirected and know to focus on my human.
I'm crated-trained but really don't need one if I am left home alone. I do bark when the doorbell rings but now know to go to my place and stay calm before my human opens the door.
So, that's me in a nutshell folks. If you know Beagles well and are ready to offer me my last forever home as well as continue with my training, please contact Sophie at info@sophiesdogadoption.com and tell her why you feel I'm the dog for you.
