Meet Sweet JOSIE
JOSIE is currently in Lebanon. She is approx 2 years+ old (Dec 2022), spayed, vaccines up to date and microchipped. Once we find an adopter for her, she will come to Canada. NOTE: We can't be sure of her exact mix, we are assuming based on the way she looks.
This sweet girl did have a family ... but they abandoned her.
We took JOSIE into our care in the Fall of 2024. Her family had to flee when the war started in South Lebanon, near their village. Another family in the area found her all alone, fending for herself. A few days later, we took her into our care.
During her vet check, we found out she had mammary gland cancer. We were surprised that JOSIE was also pregnant. To prevent the cancer from spreading, her pregnancy had to be terminated and her mammary glands removed. RDL-C did not hesitate and we covered the cost of her treatment and surgery. We are happy to say JOSIE is cancer free today!!
She is very friendly, social with people, social with dogs, affectionate, playful.
JOSIE can at first be nervous/anxious when in new situations or meeting new people. How can you blame her, she found herself abandoned, all alone on the streets, new people showed up, then others stepped in to help her. One minute she will allow a hand to stroke her fur and the next, she is shrinking away. She will need a patient adopter who will give her time to adapt to her new surroundings.
Currently lives at a paid boarding/shelter facility with our other rescued dogs in Lebanon.
JOSIE deserves a kind and loving forever home.
