Sven - applications closed's Story

To be considered for adoption, please complete an application directly on our site. www.suesrescue.com

Meet Sven — The Sweet, Gentle, Family-Loving Labradoodle

Sven is an 8-year-old Labradoodle who has spent his entire life in one loving home, and he is now looking for a new family due to changes in his owner’s circumstances. He’s a wonderful, affectionate dog with a gentle temperament and a true love for people.

Sven is fantastic with children of all ages — he has lived with kids and greets visiting children with the same gentle enthusiasm. He loves meeting people, warms up easily, and although he’ll bark a few excited “hello”s when someone arrives at the door, he is not reactive or aggressive.

He enjoys the company of other dogs and has always done well with calm dogs, busy dog parks, and even cats. He shares space beautifully and adapts comfortably to new environments and routines.

Sven is a smart, eager-to-please dog. He walks nicely on leash, is crate trained, and fully housebroken. He loves mental stimulation — especially “search for the ball” games. He won’t stop until he finds it and takes great pride in his victories. A trainer once described Sven as having the temperament of a therapy dog, and it truly fits him.

He is neutered, microchipped, healthy, and easy to handle for grooming (except nail trims, which make him a little nervous). He loves water, enjoys car rides, and has no bite history or behavioural concerns. He does bark for a minute or two if left alone in the car, but settles quickly.

Sven would fit beautifully into almost any home — families with children, calm households, first-time dog owners, or anyone wanting a sweet, stable, people-loving companion. He hasn’t been receiving much exercise lately due to his family’s situation, so a home that can offer daily walks and playtime would make him very happy.

This is a genuinely lovely dog who simply needs someone with the time, stability, and resources to give him the life he deserves.
