Our newest pup guest is Sven, he's 18 months old and a mush. He was released to us and is is UTD on his vaccines. He is also neutered now. This guy is really sweet and enjoys being with the volunteers. He does not play favorites; he loves everyone once he meets you! Being a strong pup, we can adopt him into a family with children (12+). He may be ok with another dog; they would need to have 2 meet-and-greets at the shelter. We do not think he would work with cats. Sven is lonely, wanting to be loved. If it's a nice sunny day, stop by and you may see all of our dogs relaxing outside, hoping to be recognized for the greatness they all possess! All are waiting for that right person to fall in love with them! We are doing our very best to love, care for, and keep our dogs having a quality of life while with us.
Please remember ALL dogs and cats once adopted need time to decompress in your home. Focus on creating a calm, safe, and structured environment to help them adjust. Take it slow. This gives you time to get to know their true personality, plus for them to get used to their new home and routine. Thank you!
Stop by to fill out an adoption application and spend as much time as you like with our dogs. We do not adopt first come; we always select the best placement for our animals. Please call your veterinarian to permit them to speak with us for our vet check. If you rent, bring proof (lease/contract) that you are allowed to have a dog. If you have a dog at home, a meet-and-greet will be scheduled for the second visit. We offer a free session with our trainer, Canine Cooperative, once an adoption is finalized.
Our adoption fee is $150 for dogs. This includes heartworm and Lyme testing, flea/tick preventatives, deworming, age-appropriate vaccines, and spay/neuter if six months or older. If they are too young, we require a $50 deposit that will be refunded upon proof that the pet has been altered.
