Meet Suzie (tripod)
As Julie Andrews sang, "These are a few of my favorite things:" car rides, belly rubs, and hugs. I just love people and other dogs. I have an enthusiastic and optimistic spirit even though I've had some hard knocks recently.
I'm living proof that even those of rare breeding and profound beauty can end up in deep trouble. First, I got lost from my home, and then I got hit by a car, and the driver kept going without stopping to check on me.
Well, fortunately there are still Good Samaritans out there, and one saw my predicament and whisked me off to the emergency vet, where I received excellent care. However, the accident damaged nerves and left me with a bum right front leg. Even though it eventually had to be amputated, I have no problems getting around, and my sweet spirit is undaunted!
My rescuer knew I needed a foster home and brought me to a dog grooming salon where the proprietor has a big heart for stray dogs and has been instrumental in finding great homes for plenty of lost dogs like me in the past.
I'm such a lovebug that's it's hard not to fall in love with me. I'm fully crate and house trained, and I walk on a leash fairly well considering I only have 3 legs. I get along great with the other dogs here, and I very well might get along with kids and cats too except I can't find either one at the dog grooming salon.
My only 'special need' is to find a gracious and loving new family who will overlook my slight imperfection and see my big heart shining through. I promise I will brighten any household where I call home because, as Shakespeare's young Juliet said, 'My bounty is boundless as the sea, My love as deep; the more I give to thee, The more I have, for both are infinite.'
