Hi there, I'm Susie! I'm super sweet and sassy and such a nice friend. I let out the cutest little howl when I want something or as I joyfully run in the yard. I will make you smile every single day. I love being with you, but not in a needy or clingy way. Just knowing you're nearby makes me feel happy and content. I've been through a lot in the past few months, but I never let it get me down. My style is more about celebrating all the special little things that each day holds, like a tasty treat, a nap on the couch, or a walk through the neighborhood.

I'm a darling, 8-year-old, 13-pound sweetheart, with soft fur, a cute little squishy face, and a happy, feisty, delightful personality. I'm already fully housebroken too. I came to Wayside when someone in my previous family became allergic to me. Once I got here, I was able to get some much-needed healthcare. I had my teeth cleaned and some of them removed. Next, I had a successful surgery to remove bladder stones, and I now eat a special Hill's diet that protects my urinary tract. Lastly, I had a couple of mild seizures, so I am on a common medication for that. I take it like a champ and it doesn't bother me at all. I will need your help to make sure I get a healthy diet, the medicine I need, and regular vet care in my new home. Happily, I'm feeling better than ever! The best part of the whole ordeal is that I've been able to recuperate and live a life of luxury in a loving foster home. Now I'm ready for you!

I have excellent house manners. I can be trusted to roam free in the house even when no one is home, because I don't bother a thing. At night, I quietly and peacefully sleep in my dog bed. Sometimes I like to cuddle with my foster parents on the sofa while other times I'm happy to nap on my own. I like to do things on my own terms, so I let my foster parents know when I'm uncomfortable with things like getting picked up or too much handling. I'm friendly and affectionate and I love to be included with family activities, but I just like my space too. Maybe you've felt that way before, so you understand.

We have a fenced yard at my foster home and I love to go outside to explore and run around. I like going for leisurely walks too. I do pretty well on my leash and I'm not reactive when I see people or dogs, but I do like to zig zag as I check out all the interesting smells. I live with 3 other dogs and I like them just fine. I don't like to play, but I am great at coexisting. I will also be perfectly happy as your only dog. I'm looking for a calm and quiet home without a lot of commotion and with people who get me and love me the way I am, quirks and all. I need a home with kids over the age of 6 and I will need to meet all the kids and other dogs before we go home together, to make sure we're a good match for each other. For the right family, I will be a great companion!

You just never know where life might take you. It was a hard day when I left my home and ended up at Wayside. I certainly didn't expect to be homeless at this stage of my life. This is where I needed to be though, to get the care I needed for my health. And now I'm ready for the next part of my journey. I'm ready to make you laugh at my silly antics and I'm ready to be your friend whenever you need me. I can't wait to be your dog.

Love, Susie
