Meet Sully

Hi, my name is Sully! I'm a PURPLE pawprint, which means I will fit well into a home that meets some specific criteria. Here is what would work best for me in my new home:

-Personality: Affectionate, silly, sensitive/shy, playful

-Can Live with Kids: Unknown history. Because he can be easily startled by rapid movements, we feel he'd do best with dog-savvy, older kids or teens that can read/respect his signals and not overwhelm him with too much roughhousing. At this time we're recommending kids ages 14+.

-Can Live with Cats: Unknown history, will need slow, supervised intro.

-Can Live with Dogs: We are still evaluating Sully to see how he does with other dogs here at the shelter. Ask staff if you'd like to know more!

-Can do Apartment Living: Not recommended due to history of living outdoors, + easily spooked by novel stimuli

-Potty Trained: Unknown

-Bite History: No

-Positive Reward Based Obedience Classes Required: Not required but would certainly be beneficial!

-Energy Level: Medium

-Needs Medical Procedure Before Going Home: Neuter/microchip

-Additional Information: Sully is an affectionate, somewhat sensitive pup who came to us as a stray. His exact history is unknown, but he appears to have lived mainly as an outdoor dog prior to arriving at the shelter and may not have much/any experience inside a home. He catches on quickly though and is really looking forward to spending the rest his days lounging on the couch or a dog bed (or even better, YOUR bed! ;)) Super quick/sudden/overhead movements can sometimes cause Sully to flinch/cower, and he would benefit from a calm, patient adopter who can read/respect body language/calming signals, go slow while he adjusts, and continue working on getting him comfortable with basic handling and the big wide world around him. Sully is incredibly affectionate and a 10/10 cuddle buddy once he knows you (it doesn't take much to become his new favorite person-- he's easily won over with a stinky treat or two.) Once out of the shelter environment and adjusted in his new home, we expect his confidence to continue to blossom, his personality to shine, and that he will make an awesome lifelong BFF for some lucky adopter. If that sounds like it could be you, submit an application to schedule an intro!

If you are interested in adopting, please fill out an application on our website ( or in person at our facility. We recommend calling into the shelter after your application has been submitted so our front desk can give you next steps on our adoption process.
