True to her name, Sugar is as sweet as can be. This adorable medium-sized mixed breed (around 30 pounds) has a gentle soul and the kindest eyes - she's the kind of dog who may start off shy, but once she learns to trust you, her love runs deep and true.

Sugar's journey hasn't been easy. She was found as a stray in Texas, bravely caring for her five puppies and her sister all on her own. Thankfully, she made her way to safety - and now her puppies and sister have all been adopted. Now it's Sugar's turn to find a forever family who will love her just as much as she's loved them.

At about 1-2 years old, Sugar is still young and learning that the world can be a kind and gentle place. She's a little scared around humans at first, but with patience, kindness, and consistency, she's blossoming into such a loving companion. She absolutely adores other dogs and would be happiest in a home with a friendly canine buddy to show her the ropes and play with.

Sugar is potty trained as long as she's taken out regularly and is good with other dogs. However, she'll need a home without cats - she's unfortunately terrified of them. A fenced-in yard is a must for this girl, as she loves to run, explore, and feel safe in her own space.

Every day, Sugar grows a little braver and a little more trusting. Once she knows you're safe, you'll see her tail wag, her eyes soften, and her sweet personality shine through. She's one of those special souls who remind you that love - and patience - can heal just about anything.
