Meet Suga, a delightful ~1.5 y/o Jack Russel Terrier mix with a heart as beautiful as her shining eyes. At 20 lbs, she's a petite bundle of love, spayed, and is more than half way through heartworm treatment already! Initially shy, Suga transforms into sweetness once she feels the warmth of your affection. She is now fully house trained as long as she is taken out on a regular schedule.

Suga's dream home? One with a spacious/securr yard and an active lifestyle, where her playful spirit can roam freely. She does well in the company of other dogs, but would not mind being an only dog, as she loves soaking up all the human attention herself!

Suga has a penchant for taking charge, yet her love for toys and a good chase keep her endlessly entertained.

An inquiry, question, or introduction through Petfinder is NOT an application. All known details about our animals are posted on their profile and updated daily. Other info would be discussed in detail with the foster during the application review process. Due to the number of introductions/questions received (hundreds daily) we ask you submit an application on our website (that application can be used for any dog with Take Paws Rescue).

The adoption fee for adult dogs covers age appropriate vaccinations, microchip, spay/neuter if not yet performed, heartworm test & appropriate heartworm treatment by the rescue's vet. All dogs in our care are also kept up-to-date on HW/Flea Prevention. Please see our website for more information.

2022 Adoption Fee Scale for non-benefactor animals:
Puppies under 12 months - $350
Dogs over 12 months - $250


*Take Paws Rescue saves dogs from high-kill shelters in Southeast Louisiana, owner surrenders, and discarded dogs with uncertain futures. All of our animals live in foster homes where they are socialized, and well cared for. An application will be required to make sure it’s the perfect match!
