Meet Stu

Stu's mother was an overbred pregnant senior chihuahua in Texas by the Mexican border, where there is an abundance of homeless pets and little resources to help them. SNARR Northeast was alerted to her situation. Given that she was a senior dog and concerningly tiny to have such a giant belly, we knew the risks of complications for a natural birth would be high. We jumped into action, finding transport for her to a Houston area foster.

Stu's mother was only 9 lbs, but gave birth to 6 healthy puppies on January 17th. Stu and his littermates were raised in Houston, but were delivered to New York on March 31st. Stu's mother has a glowing temperament with all people and other pets, as does Stu. Stu's foster said he is a delight and loves to play with toys. He is also extremely personable and a little bit clingy, in that he wants to be with a person all of the time.

Because Stu is a small breed puppies, we are seeking a home without small children or large dogs, where he could be accidentally injured. We are seeking an adopter who has another friendly small dog to keep Stu company and who is home the majority of the day.

Stu's adoption fee is $495, which also includes transportation and his two rounds of vaccines.

IMPORTANT: This puppy has not yet been altered. For any dog or puppy that is not able to be spayed/neutered prior to adoption, SNARR requires a $125 deposit in addition to your adoption fee, as well as a signed Spay/Neuter Contract stating you will have this dog altered within 6 months of adoption. The $125 deposit will be returned once the contract has been fulfilled.

If they are listed on Petfinder, they are still available. We do not go on a first come first serve basis, but on best fit for the family and most importantly, the puppy. We are taking our best guess on breed and size when fully grown, based on the puppy's physical appearance.

Please visit snarrnortheast.org for the applications to adopt. If you are interested in adopting any of the puppies our adoption fee is $495 and we do suggest putting a 1st, 2nd and 3rd choice on your application

**** The first step in adopting a puppy through SNARR Northeast is to fill out an application at www.snarrnortheast.org. Please understand that at this time we are currently experiencing increased interest in our adoptable dogs/puppies, so if you are interested in adopting in a dog, the best thing to do is submit an adoption application ASAP. Once we receive your application, one of our adoption application processors will contact you, review our adoption process with you, and answer any additional questions you may have. Please make sure to receive a receipt of confirmation after submitting your application to ensure that it has come through properly.****
