Meet Stormy

Stormy (affectionately referred to in her foster home as Daisy), is currently 5 years old, and weighs about 55 pounds. Stormy is a complete sweetheart, and loves, loves, loves being with people! Whether it's hanging out at home, riding in the car, or going for a walk, she loves being your companion! Stormy just completed a hike with Foster Dog Summit on May 19th, and you can read all about her trip here:

Stormy is a low maintenance dog, as her three favorite past times are sleeping (usually as close to a human as she can get), getting her belly rubbed, and going for car rides. She will sleep in her crate at night but likes it if the crate is next to a human's bed. She currently lives with two other dogs and after a couple of days got along just fine. There are also two resident rabbits and she is not interested in them.

Stormy has met children of all ages at an adoption event and was fine with them, which was no surprise as they were humans, and they were petting her! Stormy is housetrained, and does fairly well on the leash. Sometimes, she will ask to go out, and then walk over to the car to go for a ride! She has a very gentle nature and would make someone a great companion!

Stormy is spayed, up-to-date on shots, is heartworm negative and is on HW prevention. She weighed 55 pounds on 4/1/2012.

This dog is available unless it is marked as Pending, meaning "pending adoption".
If this Dog is marked Urgent, it is because the Arkansas shelter where he/she resides is overfull. **Please do not ask local shelters to take this dog in, there are many reasons why they cannot.**

Please also do not send us letters about why we euthanize, AHR does not euthanize, but the shelters we work with do. We are a rescue and we pull as many dogs as we have foster homes and funds for. We, like the shelter, do not have unlimited resources. Please, please: foster, adopt or sponsor a dog to help save their lives.

. We pay a Transportation Service from Arkansas to bring the dogs to New England. The adoption fee is $350 for dogs through 6 months of age, $300 for dogs 7 months-5 years, and $275 for dogs 6 years and older; (for bonded pairs: $250.00/per dog). This includes vaccinations, spay/neuter, microchip, heartworm/lyme/erlichea test, worming and for imported dogs: transport on a USDA approved transport with a Health Certificate. All imported dogs are quarantined 14 days prior to leaving Arkansas. Almost Home Rescue will process your adoption. Applications can be found at and can be e-mailed to
