Steven loves being with his people. He follows you around the house and will only stay outside if you're out there with him — or if he’s waiting to come back inside to be with you! He adores human company so much that he’d prefer to be your one and only dog. His other favorite activities include going for walks and playing in the water — he loves it! He’ll happily spend hours in the pool during the summer and might even hop in the shower with you if you leave the door open. LOL! His favorite toys are squeaky ones and frozen Kongs.

Steven leans in for pets, just wanting to be loved, and he’s a smart boy! He’s highly trainable, especially when treats are involved. He already knows commands like place, sit, down, and stay on a placemat. He’s treadmill trained, shakes with both paws, heels by your side on walks, and responds to "touch," "come," and "leave it."

Steven completed an 8-week board and train program. While he used to play with other dogs at the facility, we’ve learned that at home, he prefers to keep all the affection to himself. As a result, we rotate the dogs throughout the day, and Steven does great just hanging out with us when it’s his turn. He loves people, but due to his excitement level, older children are preferable. He does get a little mouthy when excited (who can blame him!?), but we’re working on that.

Steven is fully potty trained and sits quietly in his kennel unless he needs to go outside — when nature calls, he lets you know! Steven would thrive with a companion who loves walks, adventures, and is ready to give him all the love he deserves for the rest of his life.
