Meet Steve Brady

Please read the dog's entire bio before you apply. Sadly, we are no longer able to respond to every application, but if your application appears to be a good match for the dog we will reach out within 3 days.
Steve Brady is a male poodle mix pup, we are told he is is 75% poodle and the rest is bernese mountain dog and st bernard.... but he really looks like a labradoodle. He has straight hair that will shed, maybe not as much a normal lab/retriever, but still he is not the "hypoallergenic" type pup. He was born 2/17/22 and very large so we guess he will mature at 65-75 lbs. Steve is a sweet boy, he bonds quickly and loves following his people around but at the same time he is very shy and sudden moves/sounds send him back to his kennel (he likes to hang out in an open kennel) or hiding spot. He is great with other dogs after he warms up to them and for him a large/calm/sweet dog in the home is a good idea as he is much more calm if he has a dog to lead the way. Steve is not super energetic, but mostly because he is timid, he will need confidence building, more training and someone with time to devote to his training. Because fast movement and sudden noises scare him, he would not be a good match for kids under 10. He does well around kitties too. He loves walks and playtime with his doggy friends, but also to snuggle at the end of the day.
Most of our dogs are not available to an out of the area adoption because of difficulty to follow up. If you do not live within a 2 hr drive of Orange County, please email us before applying to see if the dog you are interested is may be a candidate for long distance adoption. We only make consider long distance adoptions for dogs who have been in our rescue for 6 plus months with no local candidates.
If you are interested in adopting one of our rescues, please visit our main website for adoption procedures at www.pupsandpals.net and then fill out our application. Please note that we are all volunteers so it may take up to 3 days to process your application, but you will hear back from us if your application is a good match for the pet.
We do not have a shelter/kennel. Our pets are fostered/boarded all over LA and Orange County.
This pet is altered, vaccinated, microchipped, and has had a brief temperament evaluation to help us determine what type of a home he/she would thrive in. Please note that we put lots of time and effort to make sure our pets are ready to be someone's perfect pet before they go home.... and to make sure that we will have the best possible match for this pet we do require an : application, interview, adoption fee and in some case a home check.
Listed for adoption: 8/26/22
Adoption fee: $450
PLEASE DO NOT call or email to see if a pet is available. We update our pages daily so if he/she is pictured here in the available dogs section, we are accepting applications at this time.
