Meet Stealth
This is Stealth. Stealth is a special needs dog, but please don't try to tell him that! He is about 3 years old and a terrier/poodle mix. He has malformed front legs that cannot be surgically repaired. He is mobile, though! He pounces around the house, wanting to be where the action is. He even jumps onto and off of the couch by himself.
Stealth has a huge personality and lots of energy. He LOVES people and hates to be alone. Forget 'welcome home', he will throw a party whenever you walk into a room! He is the perfect lap dog, and loves cuddling.
Stealth is fearful of other dogs, and sometimes growls at them. It has never progressed beyond a growl with his foster siblings (three small dogs) and he has been able to roam the house freely with them. We have noticed that he primarily growls when he is startled or when he is with a human and wants to protect his spot (or perhaps his human). We believe he came from a hoarding situation and we suspect he may have been bullied by the other dogs. So caution is advised with other canine siblings, but we are hopeful that he will learn to trust other dogs with time. He would certainly be a perfect 'only dog' or a house with a female dog.
Stealth should not be adopted into a home with young children.
House training is an ongoing project, and he currently wears a "belly band" to give him freedom around the house without messes. He is great with being groomed.
This dog will steal your heart -- he is really special! We call him our Christmas miracle, since he was rescued from being euthanized at a shelter right before the holidays.
