Meet Star - Fostered in Omaha

Star came in to rescue after she ended up in a pound in Southern Missouri as a stray. She was pregnant with no home to call her own. She was brought to Omaha, where she had her 9 puppies (Planet litter) just 12 days later. All of her puppies have been adopted, and now its her turn!

Star is just the sweetest girl. This 30 lb, 2 yr young beauty takes pride in trying to climb up in your lap and make herself comfortable. She loves to roll over for belly rubs as well. Now that her puppies have left, she is discovering the joy of playing with toys and other dogs. Her favorite pastime is to take a toy out on the deck or to the back yard to play with. She loves to play with her doggie friends as well.

This one may not be best for an apartment home, she loves to sing the sound of her people! She does walk on a leash well most of the time, and then the next time, done, lays down and wont move! Can you say Diva? But with her stunning looks, she gets away with it.

Shes so smart and uses the dog door but if it is blocked, she will signal she needs to go out. She is a climber and learned quickly how to climb out of a 30-in vertical slat pen. Due to her superior climbing abilities, she would be best suited in a home with a privacy fence vs. a chain link. She is doing very well in her plastic crate, doesn't handle the wire one well. She is most of the time not crated and does fine 99% of the time if nothing is left out for her to get in to. You know how beagles are! She very willingly go in her crate for meals. If she doesn't eat in her crate, she will take a bite and run around circling back to her food multiple times before finishing. So with other dogs in the house, its best everyone eats in their own space. She tries to sleep with her foster mom, but quickly jumps down and wants out of the room to go sleep on a doggie bed.

Star weighs about 30 pounds and is approx 2 yrs old. She has been spayed, shots, and microchipped and is ready for her forever family she is on HW preventative.

If interested in Star, please fill out an adoption aaplication at www.bassetandbeagle.org. Her adoption fee is $400
