Meet Spritz

Spritz's Story
-Written by Spritz, a 6-week-old, 5lb female Aussie mix.
---------------------------------------------

Why? Why do some have such a terrible start in life? Why at only 4 weeks was I thrown out like trash? Why was I taped up in a box with my 9 siblings and left at a dumpster? Why was I so hungry that I tried desperately to nurse on my siblings? Why did some of the tissue in my toes and tail die because my siblings were nursing just as hard on me? Why did I cry until I was hoarse and it didn't change anything? Why was I taken from my mom at only 4 weeks old?

I wish I knew the answer to the above. I really wish I did. I don't know what I did to deserve that kind of fate, but I am trying to move on. I am trying to be strong and put the past behind me. I get more playful every day. I get more adventurous every day. What happened to me was meant to break me...and probably even kill me. That didn't happen though. Someone had found us and taken us to shelter who then reached out to this rescue. I am now safe and I am learning how to be a carefree puppy.

I spend my time in the sunroom with access to part of the living room with a playpen. I am being well socialized with people, and have just started exploring the outside with my foster mom. I have started playing with my siblings and discovered that I really like the soft dog bed. I absolutely love food and am always super excited to dive right in when it is served. I am on the more active side and am looking for an active family. Someone who will play with me is home a lot, and hopefully even has another dog for me to play with!

I am sure you noticed my hairless tail. I don't know if my fur will grow back on it or not. Only time will tell. That is due to my siblings trying to nurse on my tail so hard they killed the tissue. When I first came to the rescue, the vets were worried that we might have to amputate if the skin started to die. Thankfully, thanks to my foster mom rubbing vitamins/oils on it and the meds from the vet, it doesn't look like that will have to happen!

I want a playful family. I want someone that will include me on their adventures. I want a family that has another playful dog or one that is home all day. Or even both would be amazing. I want someone who will love me for me and never ever let something bad happen to me again. If you believe you are the family for me, you can apply to adopt me at
https://www.pyrpawsandfluffytailsrescue.com/adoption-app

Once this app comes in, it will be sent on to my foster family. This is to help ensure that not only am I a good fit for you but that you are also a good fit for me! ?

I am currently residing in Sand Springs, OK. I do ask that my new family pick me up, none of that outside transport stuff. If I am going to move in with you, I expect to start our journey in the car together driving home TOGETHER. ?

Now I know that you may have fallen in love with me, but I am not quite ready to go home yet. I won't be ready to go home with you until around the end of August. I hope that you will still apply to adopt me though, that way after my final vetting with this rescue I will already have a family waiting! ?

My adoption fee is $300.
That will include two sets of puppy shots and wormings. I will also have had a bordetella. I will be micro-chipped, have a fecal done, be de-wormed, be spayed/neutered, and will be current on heart-worm and flea/tick prevention.

EPILOGUE
-Below is an excerpt from Spritz's foster family.

"Spritz is a small package with a big personality! Small and mighty. Loves to chew on your toes and ankles. Plays well with the others but will definitely let them know when they get too rough. She loves to explore her surroundings and will look for places to escape her enclosure so beware. Not a fan of baths. I'm hoping to change that when we get the puppy pool out."
