Have you ever seen a dog with such beautiful markings?! How amazing is this fella? Meet Spooner! ?

I am one of those pups that people seemed to be playing hot potato with. I originally ended up in the shelter as a stray. Then I got adopted. Not even two days later I end up back in the shelter as a stray. Then, I get adopted again. Then not even 2 days later I get surrendered back to the shelter. Then I sat there. One day someone special came for me. They would not let me be passed around anymore, and I ended up in this awesome rescue! I am now in a loving foster home and am doing great! I don't know why those people discarded me like a toy, but it was their loss. I am about to find the most amazing family and they are going to be tails over heels for me! ?

My name is Spooner and I am a 7-8 month-old male Pyr/Aussie mix. I currently weigh about 41lbs, and won't be getting too much bigger. Maybe 50lb range. I have no tail and have the softest coat around! I am a playful and energetic boy. I am definitely someone you can take on hikes and runs with. Before I move forward, here is what my foster says about me

"Spooner will be his family’s best friend, he wants all of your attention. He will stay by your side from room to room to get extra love. He can jump over baby gates just so he can be with you and stay by your side. He wants to be by your side and cuddle and play. Altogether, he just wants to be loved and played with."

??To My New Family (Part 1)??

I am very excited to meet you, but before you apply to adopt me I need you to know some important things about me. I have compiled a list below ?

? I do good when meeting new people. I remember the "stranger danger" rule that my mama told me and am initially cautious. When my owner shows me everything is okay, I am super eager to say hi and become one of the biggest lovebugs ever! ? I have been out in public and have done well. I will sometimes try to give hugs, but I am on the shorter side so really only reach your legs.

?Are you looking for a calmer dog? Are you looking for a more active dog? Wanting a mix of the personalities? Because I am both! I have my moments of playfulness where I love doing things and other times I will happily pass out by your feet.

? I am a moderate chewer. If you have been looking for someone to help remind you to put shoes, bras, stuffed animals, and other easy-to-grab things up I am up for the task! I am all about helping you learn ? I am working on my fetch skills. I am beginner level right now, but practice makes perfect! I 100% love toys and always have them surrounding me! I love the stuffed toys, the squeaky toys, and everything in between! Lastly, if you have been wanting a dog who loves water....HELLO! I love playing in the water and would probably love hopping into the pool or lake if allowed. I definitely love water.

? I can be protective of my food towards the other dogs. If they get too close while eating, I will give a warning snap but have gotten much better. It is still important that my owners be present during feeding time to monitor if they have other dogs. Initially, I was a bit protective of my toys, but am learning to share. I have quickly learned that playing tug-o-war with the other dogs is one of my favorite things!

? I do great with other dogs. I do need a slow introduction to new dogs, but once I have settled in I have a blast playing tag with them outside and tug-o-war.

? I am not a fan of cats. They tend to mock me and I cannot let that fly so will often chase after them. To be on the safe side, my home should be cat-free.

?I have been around kids and have done great with them! I am a total lovebug!

? I am potty trained. I am kennel trained, but need some reassurance and treats to let me know everything is okay once I am in one.

?I can be vocal when I am outside if I see people/dogs walking by. Or if I hear something strange. Other than that, I have not shown to be a big barker. It would be best that my new family had a privacy fence if they lived in a busier neighborhood.

? I walk really well on a leash and enjoy going for walks. Currently, I am a bit like a statue in the car. I am nervous, but with time I imagine I will feel more comfortable on car rides.

?I am being fostered in Tulsa, OK. We do not send our dogs on transports or ship them. This means my new family needs to pick me up, even if they are out of state.

?My adoption fee is $225. That includes DHLPP, Rabies, and Bordatella shots. I will be micro-chipped, heart-worm tested, have a fecal done, be de-wormed, be spayed/neutered, and will be current on heart-worm and flea/tick prevention.

I am very ready to find my forever family, however, I want to make sure that not only am I a good fit for you but that you are a good fit for me! Below you will find some of the things that I hope for in my new home

My ideal home would be with a more energetic family! One that loves going for walks, hikes, taking trips to the lake, and looking for a take everywhere with them kind of dog! I would love to chill on the boat while you take us onto the lake. I would also love to just curl up and watch TV later at night with my new family. I am a family dog through and through. I would do fine in a home with or without other dogs. I am still learning my manners around them, so would need someone that doesn't mind continuing my training on proper doggie etiquette!
