Meet Spike
Hello future family!
My name is Spike and I'm a 50 pound Staffordshire Bull Terrier just over 2 years old. I am not at the kennel right now as I am in a foster home.
I am a happy go lucky boy that loves to be around people and has more personality than a few paragraphs can fit. You can usually find me with a big smile on my face, sitting with a bone or enjoying the weather from the deck / patio. I've been told many times that I'm a sweetheart, and I can be very affectionate with anyone who wants to give me some scratches! I've gotten better about giving too many kisses though. I try my best to respect people's space, so I work really hard not to jump on friends, but I do need a home with humans 8 years and older.
I am always up for an adventure and mesh well with the energy of people around me. I am naturally curious, love smells, and enjoy toys and treats of all sorts. Want to go for a walk? Count me in! Ready for some play time? Let me go get my ball, I promise I'll share (actually, I like rope toys and tug of war the best). Feel like working on some commands? I'm on it! I might get a little distracted sometimes but love training time with my foster parents.
I'm not possessive, but when I realize something is mine, I will happily accept presents. I wasn't too sure about the sweatshirt my foster parents gave me, but now I love wearing it and will help put it on. I've decided I even like those booties they gave me to protect my paws in the winter!
I love to play with other dogs too! It’s really great when they also want to plan with me. If you have another dog, I’d love to meet up.
If you couldn't tell, I have lots of interests!
When I'm not out and about, my crate is one of my happy places to relax. My foster family usually asks me to hang out in my crate while they're not home, but I also use my crate to rest during the daytime and will sometimes put myself to bed when I'm ready to call it a day.
If you think we could be a good match and you are over 21 years old, send in an application for me at k9stray.com. My friends at K9 will be in touch.
I can’t wait to meet you!
~Spike
