Spike American Bulldog & Terrier Mix Dillsburg, PA

Spike is a beautiful white dog with brindle patches and perfect little patch over his left eye - how cute! He is about 5 years old and is looking for a family who will love him, because he is aching to love a family. His previously family had him almost his whole life but no longer had time for him which was confusing and stressful for him. His crate became a source of distress instead of comfort (he originally liked it) and he began chewing at the bars and hurting himself so they began to keep him blocked in the kitchen. He could hear them but couldn't get to them and began to find the kitchen linoleum distressing and would break through the barrier to come to them. This time around he needs a family that has time and energy for him and wants a dog in their lives. He is doing fine with the floor issue now, though you can tell he's a little nervous at first when he walks on it but then does great and will play. We have not re-introduced a crate to him yet but will do that in time.

Spike is playful but also really loves some gentle cuddling, He loves to lean his head into your chest while you pet him. He pulls a little but overall walks very well on a leash. He is excited but happy when he sees other dogs. He would do best in a home with no children under the age of 15. If there is a dog in the home he will likely do fine but we will need to do a proper introduction first. He lived with a cat but the cat hated him so he steered clear. It seems he would do okay living with a cat though.
