Looking for a friendly, active buddy for adventures or dog sports? Take a look at Sparrow!
Sparrow is an energetic lad: he loves to hike and would likely make a good running companion with more training. He's had some exposure to dock diving and disc, with more work he'd be a super fun dog for someone getting into those or other dog sports! Good toy drive, very food motivated, and eager to please. Sparrow will not be satisfied by backyard life or short walks, he wants to work and play with his owner!
Sparrow is dog-friendly but can be pushy and is still learning to respect other dogs' boundaries, so a dog park is not a good environment for him. He does do well in a structured setting with dogs of all sizes and enjoys one on one play with some refereeing. Sparrow has lived previously with cats, though will likely need similar guidance.
Sparrow loves people, he wants to say hi to everyone! This means he needs someone to teach him how to ignore distractions and focus more on his handler. Between his friendly demeanor and lack of training he is a bit like a bull in a china shop right now, so he is not suitable for a home with young children - he will bowl them over in his excitement. With an owner to teach him manners and obedience he'll become an upstanding member of canine society!
Sparrow is approximately 46lbs and 1-1.5 years old. He is neutered, microchipped, up to date on vaccinations and preventatives, and is crate- and house-trained. Sparrow is being fostered in Marshfield, MA and needs to meet his potential family prior to adoption to ensure a great fit.
