LONG TIMER. Updated picture of this playful girl. Sparky is now 7 and really wants to be adopted. Sparky is high energy and loves playing ball. She would need a fenced in yard. She also loves taking walks and belly rubs. Sparky does ok with male dogs but no cats or children.


Sparky is an approximate 6 year old tri colored Rottweiler & Labrador Retriever Mix who is around 65lbs. This sweet girl has been at Max’s Hope for over 5 years, just waiting for her forever home. She is currently the longest dog resident we have.

Sparky is a happy go lucky, high energy girl who needs a fenced in backyard with room to run and roll around in the grass. She is eager to listen, very treat/food driven and would make a great companion! She would do fine in a home with a male dog, but is very female dog selective. She doesn’t seem to mind cats. Sparky is great with kids when she has a firm human leader there to remind her to be calm, otherwise she may jump on them and be very overwhelming for a child. Sparky loves to play fetch and is very good at it. She also like long walks and just laying around in the sun. This girl keeps her room neat. She does have accidents here and there since she’s only known a shelter environment. Sparky is up to date on vaccines, heartworm negative, and spayed. Sparky is one of our longest residents here at Max’s Hope, and she needs a home to call her own.

Please include your current veterinarian and the name they are listed under at that veterinarian office. All current pets must be up to date on vaccines and spayed/neutered. Dogs must be on heartworm preventative.) Our adoptable cats must live inside and adopters must agree not to declaw. If these criteria are not met, we will not process your application.

Adoption Process: This is not a first come, first serve organization. We will process applications within 48 business hours of receiving them. The application must be completed in full including first and last name, complete address including city and state, complete veterinarian information(this will be checked and all pets must be neutered or spayed, up to date on all vaccines, and dogs must be current on heartworm prevention) and the name of all current pets in the household. We are 100% volunteers and I will not subject anyone who is giving of themselves and their time to hostile conversations. Please be patient with us. We are not paid for our endless hours and are looking for the BEST home for the babies in our care.
