Meet Sparklet

For many dogs that arrive at the shelter as strays, we offer them safety, warmth, and comfort. For Sparklet, the shelter is a safe haven unlike anything she has probably experienced in her short life. We estimate that this sweet girl is about 3 years old and that her life until this time has been terribly harsh. Although Sparklet’s teeth are ground down to nothing, her ears are chopped mercilessly short, and her leg is deformed due most likely to a bone fracture that never received medical attention, she is a happy survivor.

Sparklet loves attention. Not only does she wag her tail, but her entire body wiggles with excitement if you give her a kind word or a pat on the head. She loves to run around in the fenced yard and she happily walks with great leash manners in spite of her disability. Sparklet seems to be friendly toward other dogs, but her appropriateness for adoption with a canine sibling will be evaluated on an individual basis. Sparklet will know she has been rescued when she is adopted and will bring great joy to her family.
