Sparkle Jack Russell Terrier Toronto, ON

Hi my name is SPARKLE I am a 4 year old, 22 lb, female, Jack Russell, I have been fixed and all my vaccinations are up to date. When I came to my foster home I had been in vet care for quite a while trying to get stronger because my previous family neglected to care for my bladder infection and kidney issues. But after several weeks at the vet and 2 months with my foster family I have a clean bill of health and I’m looking for a forever family!

I would prefer a family that has toys, a huge back yard, and enjoys all things outdoors, like long walks on the beach and picnic lunches and I would like a soft, fluffy bed that I can layer with blankets and pillows and stuffed toys.

I am of medium build, 22 pounds and could still trim down a bit, so I am not supposed to eat any table scraps! I will need regular vet monitoring and would like to continue eating my specialized diet of yummy food. My beautiful expression is always inquisitive and full of life, my ears always perked ready for your command. I am lively and always playful, I have tons of energy and would need regular exercise.

But when I crash I am usually out for a good 8 hours! I will listen if you don’t want me on your furniture and I will not jump if you tell me with your words. But sometimes I will sneak up on you when you least expect it and launch into your lap, which makes everyone in the room laugh because I am not ‘that tiny’.

I really enjoy other dogs that I meet and have made good friends with my roomie, Eddie, who is a Jack x Chihuahua. I am super friendly with everyone I meet, even strangers; but when I am on leash I mostly have my nose to the ground and I don’t see any people at all. My humans take me outside all the time and make me wear a harness; because I am usually pulling them around. I will need a strong, firm hand to take me for walks until I get a bit better.

I have really loved my foster family and their 11 year old boy. He might be faster on foot but I am a better jumper and my voice is louder! I do like to bark when I am outside but usually I don’t bark when I am inside the house. I enjoy most forms of stimulation and I love exploring – so far I haven’t gotten into any trouble. I didn’t even dig under the deck when I saw a rabbit go under; I am fearless and my foster Mom says a skunk is going to get me…one day. My coat is all white except for my tan face and I have a very healthy, smooth hair coat, maybe from all the rub downs I demand. I have the best smile and head tilt plus I am really cuddly.
