Spanky Catahoula Leopard Dog & Labrador Retriever Mix Haworth, NJ

Spanky and his five siblings were born to senior momma, Hope, around 1/10/21. Left out in the cold with a retained placenta, she was unable to produce enough milk to feed all of her puppies and some did not survive to see help arrive. They were brought into a small shelter, and staff immediately sent out a plea for help. Thankfully, a wonderful experienced foster stepped up, and we had this family moved to her within 24 hours. Once Hope was treated, her condition immediately improved and she was able to successfully nurse.

From their foster momma: Spanky is the all around dude. Ironically, after I named them, their names fit more and more to their personality as time went on! Spanky is going to be a wonderful companion dog. He will sit and just watch you if you are doing something. He will go and play and all but then he will come and find his human. He is the one my fiancé latched onto. I don’t really know how to explain it, he is just an all around dude, adaptable, very smart and knows his name so well it’s scary.

Spanky is the only pup left in his litter, and is now nearing five months old. He’s had multiple approved apps, all of which fell through for the most bizarre reasons before even getting to the meet and greet. His foster family loves him, but they want to see him have his own home - please consider adding this sweet little gentleman to your household.
