6-month-old, 25-pound Lab / Shepherd mix
Nickname: Sketti
House-trained / Crate-trained
Sketti loves to play with other dogs.
She generally will ignore cats.
Would be okay with older, dog-savvy kids (resource guards).
Sketti is an active puppy who loves playing and going for walks. She is a bit vocal when playing and for the first few minutes of being in her crate, so we are recommending she not live in an apartment / shared-wall home.
Sketti is working on not resource guarding her food and toys. She has made leaps and bounds since coming into foster care, but still gets protective if she thinks she has found a treasure and will show her teeth or growl. She has been very responsive to the “trade up” method, or simply being distracted from whatever treasure she has found.
Her favorite things include cuddling, chew toys, figuring out the game of fetch, and treat puzzles with peanut butter! She is currently in a home without a fenced yard and does fine with ample playtime and walks but would not say no to a fenced yard in her forever home! She can be a bit of an escape artist, so a complete fence with no gaps would be necessary.
Sketti is an absolute love bug and would thrive in a home that will continue her resource guard and basic manners training!
Her adoption fee includes spay/neuter, heartworm/Lyme test, all age-appropriate vaccinations (distemper, rabies, & Bordetella), HW and flea/tick preventative, and microchip implant and registration.
There is no guarantee of age and breed as a rescue animal's history is unknown. All ages and breeds are best guess.
Adoption fees INCLUDE a mandatory sales tax of 7.525%.
Due to post-adoption services provided, it is Pet Haven's policy to only place dogs into homes within a 75-mile radius of the Minneapolis, MN city center.
