A post about Sophie.<br/>As you can imagine, we have gotten quite a few applications on Sophie. She is tiny, absolutely adorable, and just overall hilarious. However, she also is not the dog for everyone. <br/><br/>Sophie is basically a baby puppy, who never learned anything, in a 1 year old body. She’s made great progress over the last two months but she is always happy to chew on your body parts….because it’s fun, duh….and likely won’t be the best fit for small children. <br/><br/>Sophie LOVES other dogs but not all dogs always love her. There are days where my dogs play with her for hours on end and there’s days they look at me with sad eyes asking when we’re going to throw in the towel and tie her to the mailbox. Her dog friends will need to be very tolerant, at least her size her bigger, and want to be friends with a puppy. <br/><br/>Sophie is not completely house broken. We have less and less accidents in her crate each week, but we know this is a deal breaker for some people. Her owner will need to be patient and continue to work with her, letting her out frequently. <br/><br/>Sophie is a bulldog mix of sorts and we would prefer her to go to a home with prior brachycephalic breed experience as their needs are different from other types of dogs. Their breathing is different, they can’t handle the heat, they tend to have more medical needs as they age, etc. <br/><br/>All applicants must live in the Tampa Bay Area as we do perform home checks prior to leaving our dog in your care. Additionally, all dogs in your home must be spayed/neutered, up to date on their shots, and have current heartworm prevention. We will call your vet to verify, we will also call your prior vet if you do not currently have dogs. <br/><br/>Sophie is not a low energy dog. Whenever applications say they want a low energy cuddle bug we laugh a little bit. Sophie is a small maniac who wants to play almost all of the time, if you are searching for a dog to just hangout with, this is not the dog for you. <br/><br/>Did you read this far down in our post?
