Meet Sophie
Meet Sophie!
She is a medium sized, 3.5 year old lab/pit/mixed breed girl.
Sophie lived the first two years of her life on a chain being neglected and borderline starved. She was very underweight when she arrived to our partner in Tennessee. It’s taken a little bit to get her to a healthy weight and show her that life IS good when you have people that love and care for you.
She is a more dominant gal, so she will need a home with a more submissive pup pal (if said home has other animals). Her hair will stand up when she meets new pals and this can be misleading. She just needs a quick “no it’s okay” and she’s okay. Because she was deprived of food we have not fed her with other dogs around. We don’t want to put her in a position where she feel she needs to defend her food- she eats fast as if she doesn’t know when another meal will come ?.
Sophie deserves a home that will love her and give her the space to eat alone, and just be able to be the sweet girl that she is. She has a lot of love to give to her family. She is untested with kids and cats.
