PLEASE READ ENTIRE BIO....Meet Socks! Born around early May 2019, Socks was purchased by a young lady in early July 2019. Unfortunately, she and her family weren't prepared to deal with the challenges of raising a young puppy and, after only two days as pet parents, they surrendered Socks to us. They told us Socks is an Aussie/Jack Russell mix but we think he looks more like he's got some Boxer in him. Socks is doing really great on paper-training but his adopter should have the time, patience and budget to tackle house-training. Socks also LOVES to chew and he isn't at all discriminating about what he chews on or up! If you have kids who are not good about picking up after themselves, Socks will be happy to serve as a reminder of why things shouldn't be left lying around just any old place! Aussies and Jack Russells are both very active dogs and Socks will need a lot of exercise. If you prefer a laid-back dog that's happy to snooze the day away while you're at work, Socks is NOT the dog for you. Aussies need to have a 'job' and Jack Russells hate to be bored. If you leave Socks alone for too long too often without sufficient mental and physical exercise, he'll probably find ways to entertain himself that might not exactly meet your approval! On the other hand, if you're looking for motivation to get off the couch and start that walking or jogging regimen you've been talking about, or if dog agility appeals to your competitive side, Socks is just what you need! Socks is a very head-strong pup and needs an adopter who is firm, consistent and - above all else - patient! This stubborn little guy would not be a good choice for a first time pet owner. If you have experience with breeds that are often smarter than humans and would like to give Socks a loving and committed forever home, just submit an application through our website (www.animalcaresociety.org). Once we've worked your application, we'll be back in touch. Only the people we've called to schedule a 'meet and greet' will be allowed to meet Socks until he's completed his vaccinations. We want to keep him as healthy as possible for his adopter during those vulnerable weeks. Also, we can only consider applicants from Jefferson County until Socks is old enough to be neutered. Thanks for understanding! /// SOCKS IS SPONSORED THRU JULY 2020 BY MARGARET STAPLETON IN LOVING MEMORY OF HENRI (NEE SPINNER).
