FOSTER PUPDATE: Snowy is an adorable 3 to 4 month old Heinz 57 mix. She is definitely a puppy and loves to play! She plays well with other dogs as long as they aren’t way smaller than her. She doesn’t mean to bowl the little guys over, she’s just a very exuberant playmate. She does great with our little 45 pound lab mix, as well as with our Mastiff. She is also very respectful of our grumpy old hound dog. She is very interested in our cat. She really wants to get close enough for a good sniff, but the cat isn’t having it, so Snowy still tries to say hello, but is never aggressive or harmful towards her in any way. She is a complete cuddle bug, but she also does amazingly well in her crate.

Meet our newest little nugget, Snowy! She comes to us all the way from Texas! She has a lot to learn but seems to be catching on quickly! We don't know a lot about her or her past, but we do know that she will have the very best possible future we can provide. Snowy gets along with other dogs and cats and is great with kids. She is a typical 12-16 week old puppy and will need continued training and positive reinforcement. She is up to date on shots, chipped and spayed. We don't know her specific breed, though she seems to have some Boxer traits. We are also guessing about her adult size. She probably won't be smaller than 'medium', but could be slightly larger, when full grown. She is available for adoption through Green Dogs Unleashed.

We are happy to consider applicants from out of state. However, if the applicant is approved, they must be willing to come to our location in Troy, VA, for a meet and greet. If all parties agree that the pup and family are a good fit, they would take the pup home at that time.

GDU does ask a minimum adoption fee of 300.00. This does not even come close to covering all expenses created by animals while in rescue. We are funded solely by the angels and volunteers willing to donate time and finances. This minimum fee includes DAPP, rabies if age appropriate,, heartworm test and preventative, if age appropriate, and flea and tick treatment, as well as neutering or spaying if the animal is medically sound to undergo surgery. In an attempt to avoid tummy upset from a sudden change of food, the foster family may include a small, transitional bag of the food the dog/puppy has been eating. And if the dog/puppy has grown attached to a special item (like a toy or blanket), they may send that along, as well.
