Snowball's Story

INTRO
This little guy is smooth coated, dense & the protector of the group! He is the first to alert the others about any and all perceived threats. He loves to play tug-o-war with his buddies & zooms around the room like he's running late for a very important meeting.

HISTORY
Snowball comes from an accidental litter of 4, he is one of three males in the bunch. They were surrendered to us around 6 weeks of age, and he has been fostered with his littermates. His DOB is 06/08/2025.

Snowball is located in West Richland, in Eastern Washington. We share information about our dogs in postings based in other cities to improve their chances of finding a great forever home. He is well worth a road trip, and we encourage you to come and meet him before you decide he should join your family! But, if necessary, HART will transport a puppy to an approved adopter in the Pacific Northwest.

SOCIALIZATION, TEMPERAMENT AND TRAINING
Snowball currently shares his home with large and small dogs. He is very friendly with everyone he meets and loves to play. He loves kids as much as he loves play time with his littermates. Though he is extremely friendly, he is still a puppy with sharp teeth, nails, and desire to chew on everything he can.

Snowball is young enough to learn to live well with another friendly, tolerant older dog, a confident, dog-savvy cat, and whatever other pets may already be part of your family.

Snowball loves to play with their dogs and/or toys all the same. When he isn't playing with his littermates, or attacking a toy bigger than him, he loves to snuggle up and be in your lap. Snowball has endless kisses to offer in exchange for a belly rub, but he will give them for free too!

Snowball is just a baby, he is young and eager to learn how to be a good family dog. He'd love you to take him to school so he can learn ALL the skills he needs to be his best self. This would be beneficial for you as his pet parent(s) as well so that you can learn to communicate effectively with him and teach him to be confident. He is still working on potty training.

It's important to remember: Snowball is a puppy, and PUPPIES ARE HARD WORK! This little boy is just getting started - he has sharp nails and needle teeth and loves to pounce on shoes and grab hold and tug on anything that moves! As far as he's concerned, anything and everything is for play. He still has everything to learn about being a civilized member of a mainly human family. He will trip you up, piddle on your rug, and chew your stuff. Please don't apply to adopt Snowball unless you're sure you have the time, energy and desire to raise him right!

HEALTH STATUS
General info
He is up to date on vaccinations, microchipped, and dewormed. He appears to be in good health. Once full grown, he will likely be somewhere in the 8-10 lbs. range.

HART does not support pediatric spay/neuter, so Snowball has not been sterilized. You will be required in terms of the adoption contract to have your pup sterilized by the time they are 6 months old. At your request, HART will refund you $100 upon receiving proof of sterilization at your expense.

ADOPTION
The adoption fee for Snowball is $425. For more pictures of Snowball, see him Facebook album at https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?vanity=HearthfireAnimalRescueTeam&set=a.1058473579767064

To apply to adopt Snowball, please complete our online adoption application at https://new.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/HAWA-A-30 , or email HearthfireART@gmail.com and request an adoption application form.

HART dogs live in foster homes, not in a kennel facility. To respect our fosters' privacy, we make our dogs available to meet adopters only after an adoption has been approved.

HART (Hearthfire Animal Rescue Team)'s Adoption Policy
All our pets are in private foster homes. HART does not have a facility. For this reason, we introduce pets to potential adopters only after the adoption application has been approved. Our process involves: # A detailed application form, which must be submitted electronically # An online background check # Reference checks (calls to your vet, landlord, and at least two personal references) # Interviews with all the adults in the home (and, if the pet is intended primarily as a child's companion, we talk with the child) # A home visit, conducted at our discretion by a member of HART or a trusted rescue colleague Most of our pets are located in the Tri-Cities (Kennewick/Richland/Pasco) in Eastern Washington, and we place pets only in homes within the Pacific Northwest. As needed we may arrange for a trusted member of our team to transport a pet to an adopter, at the adopter's expense. We do not ever release pets to a third party for transportation; we personally introduce every pet to their adopter. HART is a registered 501(c)3 charity. We depend on adoption fees and donations to continue serving our community. We do not have an office or facility, and our team is made up only of volunteers. Our entire income goes to helping animals.
