Snow's Story

Current Location: Frederick, MD

This gorgeous one year old Husky mix weighs about 37 lbs and looks like she stepped right out of a winter fairytale. With her snowy white coat and stunning husky eyes, one blue and one brown, she turns heads everywhere she goes.

Snow started out shy and unsure, but she has truly begun to blossom in her foster home. With patience and gentle introductions, her sweet and playful personality has started shining through. She has grown comfortable with the resident dogs and now enjoys being part of the pack. Her hesitation around new people or dogs comes from uncertainty, not aggression, and once she feels safe, she forms loyal and loving bonds.

She would do best with adopters who understand the value of slow introductions and letting her settle at her own pace. Snow has shown no signs of resource guarding or dog aggression and continues to gain confidence every day.

Like many husky mixes, Snow enjoys having room to run, explore, and enjoy the outdoors. A yard would be ideal for this beautiful girl, along with adopters ready for the full husky experience, including lots of fluff and shedding. She is active, curious, and happiest when she has both adventure and reassurance.

Snow is still learning the world is a safe place, but she has already come so far. Underneath that stunning coat and those unforgettable eyes is a loving, fun girl who is ready to keep growing with the right family beside her.

She is not only beautiful. She is becoming brave too, and that makes her even more special.

Operation Paws for Homes's Adoption Policy
Our organization provides pet adoption services to families located in Virginia, Washington DC, Maryland, Southern Pennsylvania and neighboring states. We believe in responsible adoptions and strive to work with each adopter to find a good match for their home and lifestyle. Our adoption process includes completion of an application, a vet check, an interview, and a personal “meet and greet” where the family can meet and interact with their potential new four-legged family member. Throughout this process, we work to ensure each family and dog are the right fit for each other. We are fortunate to have some wonderful and active volunteers who help OPH find forever homes for over 1,000 dogs and cats a year. The key to that statement is - volunteer! Please remember that our organization is driven by caring individuals who give their personal time to help rescue these animals and provide them with the opportunity to find an amazing future! In addition to adoptions, volunteers carry out education and outreach events throughout the area, and conduct donation drives for our partner shelters in the south. Our goal is to offer a second chance to dogs and cats abandoned in shelters and out of time. Sadly, without our help, some of these adoptable animals would face almost certain euthanasia - sometimes within days of arriving at the shelter. Each year we rescue hundreds of wonderful dogs and cats. We work hard to unite them with forever families who will give them the life and love they deserve. These animals are saved only because of the dedication of our incredible adopters, fosters, donors, and volunteers.
