Snickers was born in a Tennessee shelter and moved up to Illinois with his mom and littermates shortly after. He was adopted at just 10 weeks old, but sadly found himself back with us in late April after being picked up as a stray. Despite efforts, we weren’t able to reconnect with his original adopters — but now he’s ready for a fresh start with a new forever family!

Snickers returned in great shape — healthy, potty trained, and full of love for every person and pup he meets! He’s a sweet, goofy boy who enjoys backyard zoomies and chewing on bones. His energy is well-balanced: playful but also content to chill with a chew or cuddle up with his people.

He’s great with other dogs (even an elderly chihuahua, who he was adorably scared of!), and while he hasn’t been tested with cats, we think he’d do just fine. He’s currently working on staying quiet in his crate — he just really wants to be near his people — but outside the crate, he’s actually very quiet and well-mannered.

Snickers has a stunning red brindle coat and soulful eyes that turn heads everywhere he goes. He’s food motivated (even takes meds in his kibble like a champ) and is already pretty good on leash, though continued training will help him shine even more as he grows.
