Meet Snaps

Snaps is an appx 4 month old chi (maybe mix) who currently weighs about 3.5 lbs. Snaps came to us because he had a very common birth defect for the breed....front leg deformities. He has front legs, but they are bent awkwardly and make more of a flipper than a leg, He uses them though and gets around fantastically and loves to play and hop in the grass. Snaps has an hilarious personality. He is so silly!!!
Snaps favorite things:
1. Playing with friends
2. His tiny toys
3. Burrowing in blankets (and his humans neck)

Snaps lives in foster care with dogs of all sizes and does great. He is also good with all humans, but his little puppy mouth still likes to chew, so we are not recommending him into a home with small children.

Though Snaps is a great size for an apartment dog, he cannot do leash walks on sidewalks or pavement of any sort because those hard and rough surfaces are tough on his little front legs. He does need to be able to stay active outdoors. He loves love loves hopping and playing in the grass, so we are looking for an adoptive home that has off leash grass time accessible to them. He is also open to stroller walks for socialization out and about, but he is going to talk smack about everyone he sees coming if you don't stay on top of it!!!

Snaps is neutered, up to date on shots, and microchipped. He is housebroken and crate trained.
His adoption fee is $250.

All dogs adopted locally through SGDR receive a free six-week session of obedience classes and a lifetime of behavior support through our Project REWARD program with trainer Ashley Reum.

You must have an approved application before being able to visit a dog. Visit our website below for an adoption application

If you expect to leave the dog alone for long periods of time, please do not consider adopting a puppy. Puppies need lots of attention and companionship. Thanks.

All known information about the animal is listed above. We do our best to give accurate information, but most of our dogs are rescues and do not come with a known history.
