Smokey's world has been quite small before coming into the shelter, and he's been a bit overwhelmed with all of the new things that he's experiencing. Since being in our care, Smokey has been a timid and independent guy who loves to sniff around and is a big fan of treats. He doesn't have much prior training and his new adopters will need to be committed to helping him learn his basics like leash manners and potty training. Smokey takes time to warm up and he will need to build a bond of trust with his new people, so positive reinforcement is the way to go! Smokey's ideal home would be a quiet one, without young children, and without too many people coming and going. He has a mixed history with other dogs and may be best as your one and only. That being said, if you do have a dog, you can bring them in and we can see if it's a match!
