We are in Rochester, NY, we adopt to people who live in the Rochester area. We do not ship our dogs and require home visits. Must live in area to adopt, will not respond to out of area/country requests. Additionally, if fencing is required it must be a physical fence and in place at time of home visit.

Smokey is such an amazing little dog, born 02/02/13. When he came to us, we were told he had a luxating patella, however, since this little guy has been here, his back legs have gained muscle strength because of his zest for life and his thrive for play/activity. He now gets around just fine. He is house-trained and successfully using a dog door. This means that, though he is completely house trained, he will benefit from a routine/schedule to keep him regular. He does well with cats and dogs.
FYI...this little guy has issues with being picked up...this means, though he thrives with love, he needs patience and understanding to get past his fears regarding being picked up... though he LOVES being cuddled and held once he trusts you. For this reason we don't feel he should go to a home with young children. He is such a wonderful little dog, well worth meeting.

All our dogs have been spayed/neutered; treated for worms; heartworm tested (if age appropriate -7 mths or older); treated for fleas/ticks; microchip; and examined by veterinarian and given age appropriate vaccinations. We take every effort to ensure the health of the animal and you will receive a copy of all vet work performed.
