Meet Skye
Five year old Skye was moved yesterday from the only home she had known to a home that we hope will be adopting her once GRRR finishes paying for all her vet care. That is how the foster to adopt works, we give you a dog to try out while we work on getting all the vet care done and paid for by the rescue. If the dog turns out to not be the right dog for your family then we find a family that would like to adopt that dog.
When a dog is in a regular foster home, we won’t move it to another foster home that may want to adopt as that is not good for the dog. If you see a dog you are interested in and you are approved to adopt then we can arrange for you to meet that dog and if you want the dog adopt it. It won’t be a foster to adopt just a straight adoption.
What we know about Skye is she gets along fine with other dogs, needs some work on leash walking, likes to play with stuffed toys, and despite her stress level upon arrival she was just the sweetest girl.
Skye lost her home due to an owner passing and his wife was overwhelmed with everything. The grandkids were terrified of dogs so Skye had to be crated before the grandkids would come into the home.
If this adoption does not work out for some reason in her current foster to adopt home, we'll let you know here first. If you would like to adopt a golden retriever, the first step is to read "How to Adopt" at www.gr-rescue.org.
