DESCRIPTION: Skye is a lucky girl. It seems her owners wanted to have her euthanized due to allergies. A good Samaritan stepped in and called Shamrock for help. We were happy to oblige!

Skye is very friendly to adults. She would do best in a home with no children. She is a little scared after having been uprooted from her home. She is very stubborn. She cannot be forced to do anything she doesn’t want to do. She does not like surprises. She could use an owner with lots of patience and a gentle touch. She could also use some obedience training.

She tolerates the other dogs in her present foster home, but does not interact with them and would do best as the only dog in the house. She gets along fine with cats. She loves to lay in your lap and will do this all day if you let her! She does not want to share you with other animals in the home. She has obviously been fed people food so teaching her to eat kibble instead has been a challenge. Her favorite food is baked or steamed chicken and hot dogs, cut up in little pieces.

Skye is housebroken and will let you know when she has to go outside to go potty. She prefers to be inside the house most of the time. Her body wiggles all over when she first sees you or when you have a leash in your hand. She loves to go for walks and rides in the car. She even vocalizes when she wants something (like food from your plate, for instance). And when she stares at you with those big brown eyes, it’s hard to resist! She loves her toys and will play with you when she’s in the mood.
