Skippy Chihuahua Mix Seattle, WA

Animal Profile: Skippy was originally sent to a partner rescue in WA from a high-kill shelter in Bakersfield. He's estimated to be about 2 years old and weighs 12 lbs. We were asked to help find him a home, so he was transferred to DGS. He is friendly with everyone he meets and has been kenneled with other dogs in CA and WA. Skippy is the resident 'kitchen helper' dog at the kennel; he eagerly follows staff around helping with tasks, prepping food, and is happy to taste test anything that might fall on the floor. Skippy is a sweet little guy that wants to snuggle at the first opportunity!

Foster Update: Skippy has stolen the heart of everyone he's met! This precious pup will greet you with a wagging tail, and it's not long before he is crawling into your lap and asking for chin scratches and ear rubs. This sweet, affectionate pup absolutely loves his people. He wants to be right by your side, and hs favorite spot is burrowing right under your arm (it's pretty darn cute). Skippy is currently being fostered with another small breed dog, and they are getting along well. He walks well on leash, enjoys strolls in the neighborhood, and is making some progress with his crate training. Skippy does well in mellow environments, but he does get overwhelmed in more crowded or hectic spaces. He would benefit from a forever home that can continue to help build him his confidence, while knowing when to advocate for his space too.

Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $550 which includes spay/neuter, core vaccinations per AVMA standards, heartworm test if applicable, and microchip with registration. Your adoption fee may be tax deductible as DGS is a 501c3 organization. All adoption fees go toward the care of all dogs in our rescue.
