Meet Sir Billy
ABOUT ME:
Sir Billy is an adorable Bullmastiff that is only 4 years old. His owner surrendered him to the animal shelter after he was unable to take him to his new home. Sir Billy is an extremely sensitive dog and the shelter environment really took a toll on him. However, once he got away from the chaos and noise, we got to see what an amazing dog he truly is. He is a sweet and happy boy that is looking for a forever family to call his own.
WHAT I NEED IN A HOME:
Sir Billy loves to spend time hanging out with people, lounging on his bed, and playing with his squeaky toys. He is a dream on car rides and is one of the best dogs at the Bullpen at playing fetch.
He has met several of the other Bullpen dogs through the fence and generally only wants to play. We are unsure how Billy feels about smaller dogs, but he is awfully interested in the barn cats, so applicants with felines will have to be committed to proper introductions.
As we’ve gotten to know Sir Billy, we’ve come to realize how much his time at the shelter scarred him. Billy continues to struggle with abandonment issues and separation anxiety, and still gets very upset when his people leave him. It will take time and patience to gain his trust and restore his faith in people again, but we know that the right family is out there. Because of his needs, Billy should only be in a home with kids over 12.
THE DETAILS:
Sir Billy is housebroken, can use a doggy door, and knows some basic obedience commands, but will need to continue his leash training with his forever home. He is heartworm negative, neutered, micro-chipped, and up to date on vaccines.

The adoption app is available on our website (www.bullpenrescue.org) under the 'work with us' tab. If you choose not to fill out an application before inquiring about a particular dog, please briefly tell us about yourself, family, and lifestyle since this will help us determine if the dog you’re interested in is a good match.
Our dogs are available for adoption nationwide but preference is given to adopters willing to do an in-person meeting. Please understand that our dogs are not adopted on a first-come, first-serve basis, but rather we strive for a “perfect placement” so we know that they will not be failed again.
