Meet Sioux
Sioux is a rescue stray from the county animal shelter. She was found with her brother in the Town of Bedford being kept in a small area with almost no human contact. It is estimated that she was born in December 2020. She is a big girl of 50 pounds at 10 months of age. She has a beautiful shiny black coat and a warm heart of gold. As with so many rescue animals, Sioux has no understanding of personal space with her foster mom. Sioux is begging for affection and attention by jumping all over her human. It is understandable since the only human contact she had was when a person came in her small space and gave her food. Luckily Sioux fell into the hands of BHS who can see Sioux is going to be a great companion for someone. She has a lot of potential and that is why BHS has put Sioux into a training facility, Flat Creek Pet Care. Sioux is one happy girl who thrives on structure. Sioux has come to realize that jumping on her person for attention will not get her what she is looking for. She now understands sitting brings her the good stuff. She has a learned a crate is a good thing and she accepts being crated with no destructive behavior, like biting the crate. She may whine a little at first but then she settles down. She understands the crate is not to be used as a potty. She loves other dogs and loves to play. Sioux does use her mouth and paws while playing therefore a meet and greet is advised when playing with other dogs. She enjoys walking on a leash and understands to sit and wait when walking through doorways. Sioux does have lots of energy and needs someone to continue her training and help her get this energy out.
Sioux has been through major training and now is ready for a forever home. If you are looking for a companion who will be totally dedicated to you, Sioux is your girl.
Sioux has been dewormed, vaccinated, microchipped, spayed, and tested for Heartworm and Tick Born Diseases.
