Simon's Story

Simon says… it’s time for you to meet your new best friend!

Simon is an approximately 9 months old and a suspected Schnauzer mix weighing in at about 24lbs of adorable scruffy goodness. And yes… he’s just as photogenic in person as he is in pictures.

Simon says:
“I already know sit and shake!”
“I’m working hard on my lay down command!”
“I’m doing great with potty training, but I’m not quite perfect yet.”
“I LOVE walks, playtime, and adventures!”

Simon is the perfect mix of sweet and active. He loves to cuddle up nearby after a fun day, but he’s not the type of dog who wants to be a lap dog 24/7. He’s energetic, athletic, playful, and would make an amazing walking or hiking buddy.

Simon says:
“Other dogs are my friends!”
He does great with other dogs and tends to be pretty submissive with them. He has not been tested with cats yet.

Like many shelter and foster dogs, Simon does have some kennel/barrier reactivity. When he’s inside his kennel for example, he may bark if unfamiliar people approach him — especially men. Outside of the kennel, he warms up much more quickly! He does well with respectful older children.

Simon says: “Please don’t judge me by my quirks!”

Overall, Simon is a truly wonderful dog with a loving personality, playful spirit, and so much potential. The person who gives this handsome boy a chance is going to gain one very loyal companion.

Apply at adoptapal.org/adopt to meet this wonderful dog
His adoption fee is $500.
