Meet Simm

Simm came to STAF from a Kentucky pound where he was on “the list” :( Simm and his brother, Buck, were abandoned by their family and left to fend for themselves. We are so thankful to have both these beautiful boys safe here at STAF!

We are a little unsure of his age but our vet thinks that Simm is between 4 and 6 years old. Simm does have a little frosty face and we think maybe is a Schipperke mixed with some smaller terrier breed. Simm is not very big and only weighs in at just 20 lbs.

Although Simm was a little nervous when he first arrived at STAF, and really didn’t even like to venture out of his run; with the TLC of countless volunteers he has definitely learned that STAF is a good place and he has begun to blossom into an adorable and affectionate little bumpkin. He can still be a little timid when first meeting new folks, but if you are patient with him he will reward you with unconditional love. Simm is a sweet and tender soul who will melt your heart with one look into his brown eyes. Check out a video of him when he first arrived and coaxing a 10 year-old boy for a little more attention:) Simm loves to be held and petted. Simm does seem to do well with other dogs as well as younger children but we do think that he will do best in a calmer home without a ton of craziness going on. Simm is easy going and gentle, and anxiously awaiting a forever family to cuddle him :)

Simm’s estimate birth date is November 2013

Simm will need: A patient home to help him gain his confidence and a calmer and quieter home will be best suited for Simm. Simm will also need positive based training to help him blossom.
Simm will love: Another dog to help him in his new home and a fenced yard to romp in.

Please see our homepage for visiting hours and adoption details.

All of our animals are spayed/neutered and current on shots.

Visit our website www.staf.org to download our application.

We do not do same-day adoptions; we ask that you return for a follow-up visit before taking an animal home.

You must be 21 years or older to adopt a dog from STAF

We require a physical fence for homes with children under the age of 11. We also may require a physical fence for specific dogs on a case-by-case basis, depending on each dog's behavior and exercise needs.

Invisible fences - Due in part to increasing coyote activity/incidents in the area and the difficulty of predicting how a dog will respond to invisible fence training--we cannot adopt to homes with invisible fences unless otherwise noted in a dog's online profile.

We do request vet and personal references.

At this time, we are only able to consider applicants within 75 miles of Cincinnati.

Can’t adopt but want to help? You can make a difference! Our shelter is run entirely on volunteer-power and generous donations from animal-lovers like you. 100% of your contribution goes directly to caring for our 500+ furry residents. Thank you for your support.
