I am 13 years old and I weigh about 15 pounds. Though I am getting up there in age, I still have a lot of pep in my step and I am excited to be alive. If you see me you'll think, "wow, that is a happy dog!" I am completely housebroken and am an easy dog to have around the house. I love to chill in my bed or at my foster parents feet, and I am not barky, except when I'm crated and I need to go potty. I also enjoy snuggling with my owners either on the couch or on the floor. I LOVE to sleep in bed with my people but please don't roll over or kick me or I might just have to bite you, sorry not sorry. I will forgive you though if you can forgive me.
Okay, so, all cards on the table, occasionally I've been known to bite. This has happened when I've been physically shoved (like pushed down from begging at the table or pushed off a lap) or when feet are coming a little too close to my body in a way that scares me. These things are few and far between but they are worth noting. If you are patient with me instead of having a "I'm going to show this dog who is boss" mentality, I will love you unconditionally.
Ideally I need a home with routine, perhaps one or two owners, and no kids or other pets. Cats who are used to dogs and don't run away might be okay. I am not a fan of other dogs-- as long as they ignore me, I'll ignore them, but if they give me the hairy eyeball or start trouble, I'll show them who's boss. Us little guys have to make sure we don't get walked over you know!
MEDICAL UPDATE: Simba has an enlarged heart and is on heart medication-- four pills in the morning, and three in the evening. He also has a history of bladder stones, so he needs to be on a prescription diet for life. Due to the special food and medications, he needs to go out every 3-4 hours, but if you keep to that schedule he does fine and doesn't have accidents in the house. For a senior dog with these issues, his time is honestly probably pretty limited. But he has good quality of life, and we are still hoping to find him a home where he can enjoy whatever time he has left.
Simba is being fostered in Millbury.
His adoption fee is $100.

We expect that all adopted dogs will enroll in a formal dog training class with their new owners. Obedience and training classes are an excellent way to learn more about your newly adopted dog, gain handling and training experience, and improve your relationship with your pet.

NOTE: Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable, so for most of the dogs we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label
