These boys might be missing their front legs but it stops them from nothing. They make the walkabout here at Camp Snooty just fine and Shotz (black and tan) even gets frustrated if you try to carry him during it because he wants to be in the middle of the action at all times. Both of the boys are super social and great with other dogs and kids as well. It is important that they are adopted into homes that plan on maintaining their social skills. It should be a must for every dog, but we find it even more so for dogs with disabilities who might find themselves more easily intimidated because they know their "flight" response in a threatening situation is not their strongest skill. It will also be very important that they maintain lean bodies. Any extra weight will be more of a detriment to their health and longevity than a four legged dog.
They need homes that are going to allow them their independence and not coddle them and feel sorry for what they don't have. They are amazing and they deserve to be this strong and confident their whole lives.
I do personally feel like they need to be in homes with other dogs.
Both Shotz and Shazam are total clowns.
We've not had dogs make us laugh like these two in....well, maybe ever! They are going to change lives for sure!!!
Shotz is up to date on shots and preventatives and is microchipped. His adoption fee is any donation you feel appropriate. Our adoption fee is set to a level to make adoptions happen. They do not cover our costs. Thank you for your generosity and interest in our dogs!
All dogs adopted locally through SGDR receive a free six-week session of obedience classes and a lifetime of behavior support through our Project REWARD program with trainer Ashley Reum.
You must have an approved application before being able to visit a dog. Visit our website below for an adoption application https://www.snootygiggles.com/dog-application/
If you expect to leave the dog alone for long periods of time, please do not consider adopting a puppy. Puppies need lots of attention and companionship. Thanks.
All known information about the animal is listed above. We do our best to give accurate information, but most of our dogs are rescues and do not come with a known history.
