Meet Shorty! She was described as a gentle giant by her previous family.

This gorgeous girl has won the hearts of a few staff members who understand that a little patience goes a long way with her! Shorty can be standoffish with unfamiliar people, but an experienced TCHS staff member can fill you in on how to set her up for success.

Shorty previously lived with children under the age of 4 and was gentle with them. She also lived with other dogs and enjoyed their company. Shorty likes cats, but she tries to play a little too rough with them. A home without small animals like cats may be best. Gradual and directly supervised introductions to all resident pets or small kids are recommended.

Shorty is housetrained and will walk to the door when she needs to go out. She is crate trained and has done well with access to a wire crate in her previous home, though she does not have to be confined to it when her family is away. She knows "sit" and "lay down." Shorty is not a fan of water or car rides.

She can be a little stubborn when she sets her mind to something and tends to pull hard on her leash. She would benefit from additional socialization and obedience training. Ask staff for tips! Come meet her today!

More than one adoption hold may be placed on an available animal and will be honored in the order they were received. Adoption holds are $25 plus tax, are non-refundable, non-transferable and not applied toward the adoption fee.

**Minnesota sales tax and an administrative fee ($20 for cats/dogs and $10 for small animals) will be applied to all adoptions. Donations and adoption fees help cover the cost of spay/neuter surgeries, microchipping, vaccinating, deworming, any medical procedures, and general care of all shelter animals.
