When someone found Shortcake abandoned at a gas station, she was starved, neglected, and treated cruelly by people passing by. A kind soul knew they had to help her, so they brought her home. Right away, her face LIT up. It was obvious that she was happy someone cared about her, and grateful to finally be somewhere safe. She is currently getting all the food she needs, and the positive attention she craves, but she still needs to find a forever home.

It’s amazing how sweet Shortcake is, considering what some humans had put her through. Now she knows that they aren’t all bad, and she can’t wait to be part of a nice family that gives her consistent love and care. You can tell she isn’t convinced yet that her next meal will come regularly, but living in a caring home will make her comfortable in the knowledge that she is just as deserving as any dog of having her needs met and feeling loved all the time.

Shortcake is a loving girl, and likes other dogs and kids, too. She walks well on a leash and is working on her “sit” command. She likes all kinds of toys, so her family will want to be sure she has a nice supply. She will happily chew on a squeaky toy or toss a ball into the air. And you will definitely see a lot of tail wagging!
