Miss Shiro has been through a lot, but you’d never know it from the way she wags her tail and lights up at the sound of a squeaky toy. When she first came to us, both of her eyes were severely infected, leaving her with limited vision and a lot of discomfort. But even then, her spirit was unshakable. Thanks to some much-needed veterinary care and a whole lot of love, Shiro had both eyes removed—and since then, she’s been living her best, pain-free life. She’s fully blind now, but don’t feel sorry for her—this happy, tail-wiggling lady is thriving! She does need a bit of guidance navigating her surroundings, especially when it comes to locating her food and water, but once she learns the layout, she’s golden. Shiro is a little on the chonky side (we say that with love), but that’s mostly due to a thyroid condition that she’s now being treated for with medication. With a bit of help, she’s already on the path to a healthier, more comfortable weight. She absolutely adores squeaky toys and enjoys the company of other animals—as long as they respect her space and don’t sneak up on her. She values peace, kindness, and a good nap in a cozy spot. Shiro’s journey wouldn’t have been possible without the compassionate people who noticed her condition and spoke up for her when she needed it most. Now, she’s ready for the next chapter: a forever home filled with patience, love, and maybe a squeaky toy or two.
