Shiro Summary:
Shiro is an 8-week-old female Great Pyrenees/Golden Retriever mix. Shiro, enjoys eating chopped ice from a bowl. She started out very shy but within two days she was playing with the bigger dogs, trying new things, investigating, and playing hard with her sister.
She likes her belly rubbed, being held for a while, and giving kisses. She likes to sleep in all different types of doggy beds and also enjoys the cool floor. She gets excited for dinner time, and eats well, but not a lot at one time. She is very determined and likes to nap on top of her "twin", her sister or her brothers or crawl under the lounge chair with her feet or head sticking out.
She is very smart and is learning quickly what is expected of her...sometimes, she just doesn't listen to the instructions as well as other times but she is still a puppy. She is such a loving baby and will give you lots of love and enjoyment over the years.

Shiro's ideal home is hard to fully know at this stage of her stay with us. She does really like to play with her sister a lot or one of the other dogs. So she would probably like to have a companion to run off some energy and be active with throughout the day. She would probably love to have older kids around to play with, although her only experience has been with the transporter's child. She is very active right now but loves to cuddle or plop on a dog pile to sleep. She loves to kiss on other dogs a lot!!!

Shiro came to us after her and her siblings Glaze, Butter, and Peru found themselves in the shelter. They were never reclaimed and became a part of our fluffy butt family. Shiro is the only one out of her litter that has more cream/white colored coat and is a total cutie! She is everything you could want in a puppy! She is playful, she is cuddly, and she will bring a smile to your face every day!

Shiro is like most puppies when it comes to activity level. She will play her heart out and then crash just as hard. We do feel like she will be more of an active dog as an adult though so needs someone who loves being active as well. Shiro is too young to take on walks but she does enjoy walking around the backyard with her foster family. She is being introduced to the leash but her family will need to continue working with her on it. Shiro is a playful and curious girl so she may enjoy going hiking with her family. It is hard to say for sure at this time though just how much energy she will have once she is older. Shiro likes to chase after thrown toys but she hasn't quite gotten the bring it back part down. She loves her nylabones, wishbones, soft toys, and heavy squeaky plastic ones. She will pick up toys, etc., heavier than she is and drag them across the room. She has been out in the rain and did not seem to mind that aspect of wetness but as of yet has not played in the sprinkler. Shiro does not have much experience going on car rides but did do well on her freedom ride which was a couple hours of driving.

Shiro does great with other dogs and loves to play with them. When it comes to meeting new dogs she may initially be shy and reserved. Once she feels comfortable with them she will engage in play with them and give them kisses. Shiro is not currently being fostered around cats. Given her age, we do feel that she would be okay with them. Shiro is not being fostered around kids. She is a very lovable girl so would do well with older kids. Younger kids she may scare with her sharp puppy teeth and claws during playtime. Shiro has had neighbors come to visit her and she has been very open to their loving and interacting with them. No trying to puppy bite them noted at this time. Shiro has not jumped on new people as a greeting. The only time she has done the jumping is when it was time to eat, but I think we have put a stop to that now.

She is working on potty training. Does really well most of the time, but does still have a tiny bladder so sometimes doesn't empty it enough before she comes back inside..because she was too busy playing. We go outside once, and occasionally twice during the night right now. She leeps in a playpen at night right now together with sister. She did not like being all alone in the beginning but is starting to get use to it. So far, Shiro has not been a big chewer. She mostly sticks to toys but if she finds something lying on the ground, she might try to grab it and take a taste of it. At night, she stays in a playpen at the side of the bed with her sister. At this point, Shiro is not a big barker but that may still change as she gets older.

Have you fallen in love with this sweet girl? If so, you can apply to adopt her at

Once you have submitted your application, it will be sent on to her foster family for consideration.

She is being fostered in Oklahoma City, OK. While we do adopt out of state, you would be responsible for picking your new dog up. We do not send our dogs on transport. This way you and your new fur baby can already begin the bonding process on the way back home, and it limits the stress on the dog.

Her adoption fee is $300.

That will include two sets of puppy shots and wormings. She will also have had a bordetella. She will be micro-chipped, have a fecal done, be de-wormed, be spayed/neutered, and will be current on heart-worm and flea/tick prevention
